VicRoads wanted to identify the asset management gaps in their regional offices and provide basic training on asset management to the regions. Innovative Thinking (IT) was engaged to review the asset management processes, systems and skills across three regions and develop a training response. The work involved analysis of:

• Risk management procedures

• Data and systems

• Workflow and process

• Skills

• Providers

• Documentation

The report that we delivered provided guidance on pavement asset management, the framework for an AMS and a set of recommendations that assisted cross-regional working practices. This was used by VicRoads to improve asset management working practices.
