nbn™

Client Relationship Management, Business nbn Accredited Advisor

When nbn™ decided to initiate the migration of large enterprises to the broadband network they turned to Innovative Thinking (IT) to be the systems integrator and to project manage the site rollout.

This migration was a first and was significant for its importance in leveraging a return on the investment in the Australian broadband network. It introduced supplier contestability for the first time, enabling large enterprises to exercise their choice of RSP. It also introduced direct access to fibre at each site, enabling for service diversity for the first time and access to high bandwidth applications.

Innovative Thinking (IT) worked with the nbn™ executive to develop a strategy and rollout plan for the latest nbn™ fibre solutions to over 2,000 national sites. The customer now can implement applications such as video conferencing, IP voice, cloud applications and technology upgrades. By connecting to nbn™’s fibre, multiple applications are possible and there is plenty of room for expansion at each site.

Innovative Thinking (IT) was the project manager for each rollout, coordinating the requirements of the Australian retailers, the RSPs and nbn™ in a national program. The project included:

  • Setup and program design

  • Project planning and budget tracking

  • Site surveys, site access and installation requirements

  • Coordination of retailers, RSPs and nbn™ site activities

  • Governance reporting

  • Coordination of technical designs, CRM, billing and service support to the end customer

  • System changes to support project billing plans

  • Development of services to support the transition

  • Negotiation and facilitation of the service scope and its commissioning

  • The migration plan and cutover
